The top division of UK Ice Hockey has chosen INCISIV’s revolutionary VR technology, MOViR, to monitor players’ brain health.

UK Ice Hockey continues on its path of meteoric growth with the Elite Ice Hockey League recording the fourth-highest average attendance across Europe in the 21/22 season. However, as the sport attracts better players and becomes even faster and more physical, risks to brain health also increase.

Mindful of the potentially devastating consequences of head injury faced by many sports, the league knew they needed to act quickly and decisively. Belfast Giants and Dundee Stars are already benefiting from MOVIR and now the league has decided to roll out this groundbreaking technology across all 10 Elite teams. INCISIV’s VR technology software will centralize all brain health data for the league’s players on one system making it much simpler to measure their neural fitness and track recovery thereby encouraging much safer return-to-play decisions.

This partnership will see the league and its 10 member teams using MOViR for the next three seasons. They will have immediate access to invaluable, reliable, scientifically validated data that will support return-to-play decisions and track changes in test performance which previously wouldn’t have been apparent for days, weeks, or even months.

Steve Thornton, head of hockey for the Belfast Giants says the new partnership is a core part of the team’s player welfare strategy.
